Hammersmith and Fulham Follows Camden in Supplying Free WiFi Service to Residents

Hammersmith and Fulham Council has announced that a free WIFI network will be provided to local residents. This will happen after a contract is signed with communications firm Arqiva in order to provide local residents with a free WiFI service. It is a fine addition to the services, provided by the cleaners in Hammersmith.

The connection will be somewhat limited, since registered users will get only 30 minutes of free WiFi a day, alongside unlimited access to the council's website. A similar announcement was made by Camden Council not long ago. This, perhaps, prompted the H&F council to consider the fre WIFi.

The agreement states that Arqiva will pay the council £500,000 for the use of lamp posts to install the transmitters. The council will also get a share of any income generated form supplying the WiFi service. The first areas with free internet access will be Shepherds Bush, which will receive free WiFi by the end of 2013. Hammersmith will have WiFi soon after and Fulham by mid-2014.
